Hurricane Wilma – Southern Florida – October 24, 2005
25 Comments
This is a sample of my Hurricane Wilma storm chase video. The footage was taken during the peak of the storm on the Southwest Florida coast in Belle Meade, near Marco Island. Peak winds occur after the lull, associated with the passage of the storm’s eye, and are near 100mph with gusts to 120mph.

Theres a feeling that you get when you know that a hurricane is coming. To me, when i realized Wilma was coming right for us, it was very exciting. I loved how i was just walking around outside in pitch black as if i was invisible. I was free to do anything. I was walking down what was normally a busy street smoking a blunt with a few of my boys having the time of my life. We were untouchable.

It’s incredible to see that even a place that recieves hurricanes every year and spends million (or even billion) dollars in reconstruction can be more structurated than here in Brazil, my country is a shame….

that storm was actually kinda fun. no school for like a week and a half. it didnt cause TOO much but did just enough to make it look really cool outside. got to check out all the knocked down signs and trees.
